Homo liberatus is a race that has developed superpowers and defeated fear thanks to evolution. Yan, the son of a Belarussian peasant woman and a homo liberatus, is destined to lead the mission to rid planet Earth of energy vampires. The reckoning with the personal offender, a sadist who commanded the 118th Ukrainian Schutzmannschaft battalion who burned the Belarussian village of Khatyn in 1943, is to mark the beginning of the mission. Yan's mother died in Khatyn too. In 1985, the protagonist returns to Earth and begins the search for the former commander of the punitive troops. However, Yan does not know the name or the face of the vampire psychopath who settled among peaceful people after the war.
