Power Creates Vampires

Extract from Chapter 8. Energy Vampires and Where to Find Them

Most people who come to power sooner or later turn into vampires, even if their initial goal in pursuing power was to improve the lives of their peers.”

“How true! Yes!” Andrei exclaimed. “So, it turns out no one should have power? Is that even possible?”

“That’s exactly how homo liberatus have lived for hundreds of thousands of years!” I laughed. “The most amazing thing is that you all understand perfectly well how it works, and yet you continue to entrust your fates to others, only to fight them later, take power, and become vampires yourselves. There’s even a legend about a dragon. I think it is Chinese.”

“When a warrior defeated the dragon guarding the gold and became the new dragon?” the captain recalled. Now we were definitely on the same wavelength!

“The dragon in this story is a vampire, a violator of the natural balance, and the cave with gold symbolises unlimited energy. Whoever gets it either does not want to give it up or simply can’t.”

“Until a new warrior with good intentions comes along…”

“And so on, endlessly.”

“It’s a vicious circle…”
